I have only recently updated this editorial. For years I have been concerned about horse slaughter in the US
and what we should do about it. I have fought to eliminate it, to stop horses goin beyond our borders to
be slaughtered in Mexico and Canada. For years along with many other rescue and humane societies we have
tried to get legislation enacted to stop the slaughter and transport of horses for slaughter to Mexico and
Canada. There has always been oponents to stoping slaughter, citing it as a cheap way to get rid of unwanted
horses, it became evern worse as the economy worsened.
The economy, and cheap slaughter should not be a reason for horses to be slaughter for human consumption in
overseas markets. If you read my homepage you will see solutions to all the arguments and to the solution of
unwanted horses.
It is time for the equine industry to support these solutions. With a little patience and time, all these solutions
along with the immediate solutions can work. Horses will not be slaughter under horrendous conditions
for human consumption.
If you are an animal lover, especially horse lover you will support these solutions. Pass on the information to
friends, to legislators, etc. With your help, we can make it happen.

I am displaying this image on my site to remind us of all the scary things
that happens to animals everyday... horse slaughter, dogs and cats destroyed daily,
wolves shot down for sport, deer slaughter, bears confined in small cages, wolves poisoned, abuse,
pets left to starve and more and more. It is a scary world out there for all our animal friends.
